Can you believe it?

Choose your character:

A: The person who is shocked when good things happen to them

B: The person who expects good things to happen to them

I think about this whenever someone says “that’s unbelievable!” or when they feel like something is too good to be true.

Ok fine, full disclosure. This just happened to me.

Liberate got an exciting opportunity (announcement to come next month) and my verbal response to the offer was “are you messing with me?”.

Besides being pretty embarrassed about my response to receiving an offer, it prompted curiosity as to why I assumed I was being “messed with”.

Why wasn’t I deserving of the opportunity?

Why did I doubt that this good thing could in fact be happening to me?

We all deal with rejection, failure, imposter syndrome, and the fear of not being good enough – at least I do.

At the same time, I believe I’m capable and even destined for great things. So why do I feel like I don’t deserve them when they come my way?

I believe that BELIEF is a muscle. Optimism and confidence are muscles that we strengthen with our habitual thought patterns.

So to revisit the characters, if you’re Character A and don’t believe good things will happen, then they probably won’t. If you’re Character B and expect good things to happen for you – not by chance – but through hard work – then not only WILL they happen, but you will be better equipped to handle them when they do.

The only limitations we have are the ones we place on ourselves.

I’m going to fully commit to Character B. Are you coming with?

Get after it this week. Because you know you can achieve great things.

Resources to Believe In:

1. Meditate to let go of limitations
2. My personal playlist for confidence *this is a no-judgement zone*
3. Self-love eBook (it’s new and it’s free)

With love and light,

A letter to my younger self

I appear to have much more compassion for my younger self than I do for my present self. So, I would like to challenge you to write a letter to your younger self, too.
